I feel that it was a wonderful and unforgettable experience. I do not dare to say that though this trip I have grown to become a better person but it has definitely made an impact on my life. I must admit that I was a little nervous and scared before the trip. I was thinking how am I going to live with 23 other people. There were members who I hardly know and the only time we meet are during meetings and facilitation sessions. But it took less than a day for everyone to be talking to each other as if they have known each other their entire life. Ever since we have returned to Singapore, the thing I missed most was the fellowship we had.

Through this trip it has allowed me to have many new experiences. I was able to try out many new things like building wells and toilets and it was no simple task.. This has made me more appreciative the things I have, I have also learn that we should be more flexible and when a crisis arises we should always stay calm.

One incident that left an impact on me was when our driver tola told my group that some villagers did not understand the purpose of us coming to their village. It kind of made me feel that they were unappreciative of us coming to their village building the toilets and wells. I was thinking maybe we should have gone to another villager who will appreciate what we do more. But on the cultural night, the villagers who received the well and toilet actually came down and thank us. This has made me realise that as long as we had made an impact on one person’s life, it is worthwhile going there.

The 16 days in cambodia would not be fun without you all:)
